Welcome to JEM Research Institute

JEM Research Institute is committed to the advancement and development of new treatments in the field of neurology.  We are dedicated to conducting clinical trials in a professional & ethical manner, while always showing respect for our patients, our colleagues and, the community.

As pharmaceutical companies race to find cures for diseases that affect millions, they must comply with the strict rules and regulations of the FDA.  Before a medication reaches the stage of human trials it must have undergone extensive testing to ensure its safety.  Once that requirement has been met, voluntary clinical trials can then be conducted. There is no medication currently available to patients that would be, had it not undergone comprehensive testing to ensure its safety and effectiveness through a clinical trial.  We salute those who selflessly agree to participate in this clinical trial process, thereby helping to advance medicine and its treatment of millions of patients throughout the world.   It is JEM’s mission to have a fundamental role in this advancement process, now and in the future.

We are delighted to inform you that on December 21, 2018, Acorda Therapeutics announced the FDA approval of INBRIJA™ for the treatment of OFF periods in people with Parkinson’s disease taking carbidopa/levodopa. We are proud to have worked on the clinical trials that brought this levodopa inhalation powder to market, but more importantly we are very excited for Parkinson's patients as it provides a novel approach to the treatment of OFF periods.
For more information on OFF periods in PD, please see this recent APDA webinar.
